Bent,broken,and
twisted,
T'is the cultural
bowl,the vessel;
Very hard to express
the feeling,
The tempest in the
sea of discontent,
A wave of panic from
bow to stern,
Unable to cope; the
people reeling,
Scattered about the
deck,the sailors,
Amidst the cracking
spars,
Thinking confined in
a cell,
Their fear being
the jailer,
Covered by the haze
of delusion,
For those that are
at helm,
Every port is an
illusion,
A glimmer of hope is
tossed,
A brilliant flare
lit by one,
A red herring in the
sea of blood,
Bright as day but
seen by none,
Between the devil
and the dark abyss,
Where choices are
next to none,
Not much can be
expected from life,
When even your
reason for hope is gone,
Where your thinking
is a sin,
And the skipper's is
the law,
In spite of his
repeated failures,
Taboo is exposing
his flaw,
The unforgiving
waters of the storm,
Where a soul can't
think free,
Even on a sinking
vessel,
Coerced compliance
is the norm,
About to be
swallowed by the sea,
One wonders what we
be,
Souls ,forever
condemned?
Or,finally,we are
free?
